Flying Solo

These games are all great for hitting the course alone or when playing with random guys at the club. These games are all both fun, and help for personal performance improvement.

Scramble/ Up and Down

Tee off on the hole like normal and play your way to the green. If you land on the green from over 100 yards out, grab the ball and throw it off the green in a random direction. Try to get up and down and see how close you can stay to par.

Irons only

Take the woods out of the bag. Play the entire round with only your irons, wedges, and putter. This swaps your distance for accuracy off every tee. If there are large forced carries or gap you can’t hit over with an iron, just play a tee forward for that hole. Many people find they actually score almost the same or even better due to less lost balls and more fairways hit.

The "wrong" club

This one is for golfers who play the same course very often. Every par 4 or par 5 tee, choose a different club than you would normally hit on the hole. This forces you to play differently and ups the risk, or forces safer play off the tee. This makes the course play entirely different, even though you’ve played the course before. You may even find out you like certain clubs better off certain holes now that you’ve tried them.
